What's a Party without a Theme?

Here in Toronto it is Snowmagadden round 3 or 4 in 2019 which obviously makes me think about summer and upcoming trips (aka Bachelorette's) on the daily. Right now I have 3 coming up with Ft. Lauderdale in April, Nashville in May and just booked San Diego in August! I cannot wait to share with you those spotlights after I get back, but one of the most fun parts of planning is choosing a theme for the weekend.

Even thinking back to high school days I was all about a good theme party. In university I jumped at the opportunity to dress up for homecoming or St. Patty's and any other theme night imaginable. Even recently, a couple of halloweens back we threw an animal themed halloween party "Welcome to the Jungle" which takes dressing up for halloween one step further. So naturally, if a Bachelorette weekend comes with a theme, I'm all for it.

Final Fiesta

I absolutely love everything about this theme that we fully embraced for Cori's Bachelorette in Scottsdale.

Location:

Arizona is the perfect place to bring this theme to life because of the cactus and all of the mexican! But Mexico (Cancun, Tulum, Cabo) can also great options to celebrate your Final Fiesta.

Food & Drink:

It wouldn't be a Final Fiesta without all of the tacos! Whether you stay at home and do a DIY mexican night or hit the city to find the hottest taco spot in town, it is an absolute must. Yes, I know guac is extra but always say yes to guac!

TEQUILA! My best friend in university, turned worst enemy that is slowly creeping back up my list again. I find myself living for margaritas now and there is no judgment over the number of margaritas consumed at a fiesta! There are so many different amazing margs recipes, set yourself up a margarita bar or find a Happy Hour (they're everywhere in the US) and go to town!

Hashtags / Quotes:

Let's Flamingle

Fiesta, Siesta, Tequila, Repeat

(your name) Final Fiesta

DTF - Down to Fiesta

Decor:

Cactus (obviously), pinatas, flamingos and all of the bright colours are the perfect mix for any fiesta. And you know I am pretty anti any penis themes, but there is an easy obvious connection here (if you want to go there!).

Champagne Campagne

Location:

This is the perfect theme for a classy wine-o weekend. Whether it be local in Prince Edward County or Niagara on the Lake or you're taking wine country to the next level and heading to Napa Valley (highly recommend) or Martha's Vineyard, there is no shortage of opportunities to bring some fun to the weekend with this theme.

Food & Drink:

I think this might be every girl's dream - all of the charcuterie boards and not to mention Rose all Day becomes a very real thing. DIY Mimosa Bars are an absolute must on top of wine tastings and prosecco pong.

Hashtags/Quotes:

You Had Me at Merlot

Yes Way Rose

Rose All Day

Namaste and Cabernet

Champagne Campaign

Decor:

From matching shirts to napkins and customized wine glasses, you'll be sure to find a quote that matches the personality of your weekend personality. Make sure to keep it classy with some prosecco plan and all of the golds, pinks and merlots and you'll have yourself the perfect Bachelorette weekend palette.

Let's Get Nauti

All things nautical are on my mind right now as I start to think about the Bachelorette we are planning in San Diego. I don't want to spill too many of the beans below, so you'll have to wait for the Bachelorette Spotlight coming at you in August. But in the meantime here are some thought starters.

Location:

Any bachelorette location that has a nautical flair to it - come at me Miami, The Hamptons, Muskoka, Lake Tahoe and everywhere water is imaginably nearby.

Hashtags/Quotes:

Let's Get Shipfaced

Nauti Crew

Last Sail Before the Veil

Mates of Honour

Decor:

All of the strips, red, navy and anchors please!

Cheers Beaches

Perfect for any Beachelorette, Cheers Beaches is all about the sun, the sand and a drink in my hand (or a ring on my hand when referring to the bride). Sunshine and tan lines are the cornerstones of any good beach bachelorette.

Location:

Anywhere beach related whether it be an All Inclusive in the Carribbean and from Florida to California (and a number of places in between).

Hashtags/Quotes:

Cheers Beaches

Resting Beach Face

Beach Please

Sun, Sand and a Drink in My Hand

Tropic Like it's Hot

Beachelorette

Beach Bach

Decor:

Pineapples, flamingos, palm trees and all of the floaties please!

Getting Hitched

Location:

Naturally a good ol' fashioned Nashelorette comes to mind for this theme. But there area so many other places that you can take this two-steppin' Bachelorette theme to. If you're into music it would be perfect for Stagecoach Music Festival in California or dare I say the Calgary Stampede! You can also throw a good southern Bachelorette anywhere in Texas, but Austin comes to mind first as a definite fan favourite. Wherever you end up celebrating your bride's last ride, don't forget your cowboy boots!

Food & Drink:

Here is your chance to get a lil' southern; bring on the fried chicken!

As for the drinks can you really call yourself country if you don't drink whiskey? That and beer are a girls best friend at any country themed Bachelorette!

Hashtags/Quotes:

(name)'s Last Ride

Getting Hitched

Whiskey Bent and Aisle Bound

Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy

Nash Bach

Bach and Boujee

Location:

Top cities come to mind for a Bach and Boujee weekend - Las Vegas, New York, New Orleans or even Canadian hot spots like Montreal or Toronto if you want to keep it local. All are

Food and Drink:

If you have an AirBnB choose a signature cocktail that represents your bride and enjoy that before you hit the town. Whether it be a Moscow Mule in the signature glass or your bride likes to keep it super classy with a Manhattan, cocktail bars are a fun way to get the night started.

When you're out, it doesn't matter whether you are lounging pool-side or out for the night, bottle service is the play to keep the boujee level high!

For food make sure you check out the cities hot spots for a nice dinner. You'll be able to find multiple options for you in each of the cities listed above.

Decor:

Golds, pinks and lots of glitter combined with bottles and champagne and you're locked and loaded for the perfect Bach and Boujee weekend!

Apres Ski

In my mind you don't see enough winter Bachelorettes ... probably because similar to days like today everyone is dreaming to get the heck out of the snow, but a winter ski weekend away is never a bad idea!

Location:

If you want to keep it local you can head to rent a chalet in the Blue Mountains or Ellicottville, NY. If you're looking to get away we have so many amazing options in Canada from Whistler to Sun Peaks in BC. Sunshine or Lake Louise in Alberta and Mt. Tremblant in Quebec. The options south of the border are endless as well - check out Lake Tahoe, Colorado or Park City, Utah.

Hashtags/Quotes:

One Last Ride before I'm the Bride

Flannel and Fizz

Flannel Fling Before the Ring

Up to Snow Good

One Last Shred Before She's Wed

Food & Drink:

I can't think of anything more perfect for a Winter Bachelorette than a DIY Coffee/Hot Chocolate bar (with booze of course) for those early mornings and late nights. It also wouldn't be an Apres party without a Shot Ski, so don't forget to stock up on the Fireball because you'll want to keep the insides warm with the weather outside!

Decor:

You can't go wrong with flannel, but would be a miss if you didn't have one day as a good ol' retro apres ski party. Whether you hit the slopes or not bring out those 80's neon suits (like the ones pictures below by Tipsy Elves) and get up to snow good.

There are hundreds of other ideas out there, but hopefully this can get you a head start on perfecting that Bachelorette weekend you're in the midst of planning. Etsy and Pinterest can be a girls best friend to help with any ideas or buying items. You can also check out any dollar store or party store for some more DIY solutions! I know I have a 100 more ideas after this and just counting down the days until I'm on the beach celebrating Carissa at Tortuga; T-59 days!

xx
