I am very lucky to not only love my job, but more than that, love the people that I work with. Over the past 7 years at Molson Coors I have been blessed to meet some incredible people that are so much more than just colleagues, they have truly become some of my closest friends. Last summer was a big one for the Molson Family and it was why 2017 was nicknamed the summer of #MolsonGetsMarried (and naturally the summer I could guarantee Coors Light or Molson Canadian were served at every wedding!).
July 25th, 2015.
So while this was before the summer of Molson Gets Married, I had to throw it back to summer 2015 to talk about Adam and Courtney’s wedding. Adam was one of the first people I met at Molson back in September 2011 when I joined the Toronto Core sales team. Not only was I lucky enough to have Adam as a friend, but immediately connected with his girlfriend, fiance, and now wife, Courtney as well. I was so excited to watch these two get married, having seen their relationship develop for the past few years.
Court and Adam pulled off one of the most stunning Toronto weddings you could ever imagine. The ceremony took place at St. Mary's Church at Adelaide and Bathurst, and while it was one of the hottest days of the year and this church (as many don’t) did not have AC, you couldn’t deny how beautiful the church was. After celebrating the official announcement of these two becoming husband and wife, it was only a short walk down the street to the Thompson Hotel for the reception.
I’m not sure there is a more iconic backdrop for cocktail hour than the Thompson Rooftop, with infinity pool and CN Tower in the background, I seriously did not want that cocktail hour to end! But while all good things come to an end, this party only continued to get better.
The drinks and dancing moved up to lobby bar area following an amazing dinner! I think I stole Court away on more than one occasion to capitalize on all of the photobooth opportunities. It wa such a fun night with my earliest group of colleagues turned friends, celebrating one amazing couple with Adam and Court!

The first wedding of the flurry of Molson weddings last summer was Dave (Turfy) and Carla’s. Turfy is another early friend from my time on the Toronto Sales team and I was introduced to Carla at one of the first Molson events I had attended. These two were a couple you just love to be around and I couldn’t be more excited to be able to celebrate their wedding day with them!
The venue that Turfy and Carla got married at The Berkeley Church, is one of my all time favourites. The old church decor and ambiance inside was so stunning and really liked the two levels the venue provided. It was at Turfy and Carla’s that I realized how much I loved the combination of a band and DJ at weddings. The band they hired (The Test Icicles) played absolute gems and the duality of band and DJ ensured that the dance floor was packed all night long.
There were two moments at this wedding that stood out above anything else that night. The first was a moment in which everyone was enjoying the party and I looked up and there were the Turfy and Carla, the newly-weds, standing on the upper terrace overlooking the dance floor enjoying a moment to themselves. You could see just how happy they were to be surrounded by family and friends and while I was far from a part of this moment, you could tell just how special it was.
The second was one of the most fun parts of the night, when the dance floor was bumpin’ and Bohemian Rhapsody came on. I really wish I could figure out how to share a video from that moment, but you’ll have to take my word when I say it was one of the most incredible parts of the night. The entire wedding formed a massive circle around the married couple as they absolutely rocked the dance floor. It ended up with everyone in the middle yelling Queen and having the absolute best time.

One week later it was Chris' turn, Turfy's best man and another good friend of mine from Molson.
We witnessed Chris and Kim get married at a beautiful church in the heart of Guelph. Even more beautiful than the church was Kim, who made an absolutely breathtaking bride! We then headed to the reception that, knowing Chris, was sure to be one hell of a party! And a party it was. It was at Chris and Kim's wedding that I was introduced to the Lightning Round from Adam.
The Lightning Round: When you take the bottle of table wine (white or red) and proceed to drink straight from the bottle, passing around the table in clockwise motion until the bottle is finished.
I lost track of the number of bottles we went through, but remember a few trips to the bar returning the empties and coming back with fresh bottles for another round. I've also lost track of the number of times the Lightning Round has been executed at future weddings, cottages, birthday parties, etc. thank you (I think) to Chris, Kim and Adam for this!
For anyone who went to Wilfrid Laurier, you know there isn't a better Taco Tuesday than an Ethel's Taco Tuesday. So when the Ethel's food truck showed up for the midnight snack, the night was complete!
It was also this night that I learned about the 'leaner', executed flawlessly by newlyweds Turfy and Carla back at the hotel as the party continued into the night!

The final two weddings of last Summer were Kara and Les. What made these extra special was the Bachelorette that some of our Molson girlfriends threw for them last summer. We decided to celebrate these two incredible ladies by renting a limo and heading to Wayhome Music Festival at Burl’s Creek for the day. We truly did #KaraLittleLes that day (seriously, 4 of 8 cell phones were missing and somehow found/returned before the nights end).
August 19th, 2017.
My first ever trip to the Big Nickel came last August when I ventured north to see one of my closest Molson friends and Sudbury natives, Kara get married. Another beautiful summer day played host to Kara and Kevin's big day.
Kara was an absolutely glowing bride who truly had the biggest smile on her face all day. You couldn't help but smile when you looked at her and saw how happy she was. And she wasn't alone, you could see just how happy and excited that Kev was as well. Their love was something that everyone could feel! The ceremony was so much fun to witness because of how personal it was, with Kara's God Mother officiating. There were tears, there was laughter and it was the perfect representation of Kara and Kevin.
Both the ceremony and reception took place at Idylwylde Golf and Country Club. I likely sound like a broken record at this point, but it was stunning. I for one didn't know what to expect driving all that way to Sudbury, I probably thought there would be snow in August ;), but it was incredible! Kara nailed the decor - the florals, the greenery and the pink and gold both inside and out made Idylwylde all the more beautiful.
It was Kara's Dad's speech that had everyone in tears. He pulled out a piece of paper written by a young Kara about the "perfect man", and it was as though 11 year old Kara knew she was going to marry Kevin one day. Once again, showing just how perfect these two are for each other.
Of course we had to bring the Lightning Round to Sudbury, although looking back this is likely why the Molson crew had the table at the back! The dance floor was packed all night, I actually vaguely remember a flip or two? The DJ kept the party going all night. At one point (after last call) he tried to execute ‘Closing Time’, but the party was not at all ready to end and it was at that point (even if the bar was closed) and I think it was Kit (see below) who took things upon himself to make sure that the dance floor was not closed for business. We ended up dancing to another few songs, before we retired into the night. A successful first trip to Sudbury (even if I didn't actually see the nickel!).

September 23, 2017.
I guess you could say that my last wedding of the summer was a Molson wedding in the truest sense, considering that Les and Chris (Kit) met and fell in love while working at Molson.
When Kit proposed to Les the previous December he already had the Royal Canadian Yacht Club on hold, knowing that Les had always wanted to get married here. I think the consistent theme across all of these weddings is how absolutely perfect and picturesque these venues were. While September 23 typically marks the first day of Fall, this was one of the hottest days of the year; my morning spent at Vent Blo Dry bar was a complete waste the minute I stepped into the heat!
Following a Church ceremony, Les and Kit had arranged for ferries to take the party over to the Island. It's such a nice way to see the city from a different vantage point and one that I hadn't seen in a few years. The cocktail party on the front lawn, turned into their first dance as the wedding guests looked on from the club's deck above.
Given their roles at the time, I thought it would be a serious battle between Molson Canadian and Coors Light representation, but MC clearly had the upper hand, although I'm not complaining as the customized Molson Canadian Stubbies as our name setting and take-away gift was a nice touch!
An amazing band kept the dance floor on the deck busy all night long. It wasn't long before it turned into a sing-along with Kit taking the mic and singing (screaming) Oasis at multiple points throughout the night!
The party turned into an after party as it moved to the boat house across the lawn, before ultimately hopping on a dingy boat in the middle of the night (and somehow) made it back to mainland TO.

And that's a wrap on #MolsonGetsMarried (for now).
Cheers,
